The Portland & Ogdensburg Railroad was planned to connect Portland, Maine to the St. Lawrence Seaway at Ogdensburg, New York. It was chartered on February 11, 1867 and was reorganized in 1886 as the Portland & Ogdensburg Railway and shortly taken over by The Maine Central Railroad in 1888.
