Steep Falls Business to Reopen Doors Under New Owner

A business which had been part of the economic life of this village from 1917 until its owner closed up shop last fall to spend the winter in Florida, will reopen soon under new management.

The building which housed Fuller's Garage has been purchased from Sherwood Hodgdon by John Hubbard of Limington. He will lease the property to Carl R. Gain and Linwood Graffam.

The business was established by Willard A. Fuller in 1917 and he operated it until his death in 1935. His widow, Mrs. Martha Fuller ran the business for 10 years. Hodgdon then bought the garage and ran it until last fall when he and his wife decided to go to Florida for the winter.

The Hodgdons plan to sell their home next to the garage as well as their cottages and property on Pequawket Lake, Limington and then move to Florida permanently. However, Hodgdon says "this may take two or three years."

How is he going to spend his time in retirement? "I am going to help Doris (Mrs. Hodgdon). I'm going to wash dishes."
